Startupfair again a success

Startupfair received again big interest this year. The 1’700 visitors equalized the visitor record of last year and confirmed the third edition of Startupfair as a leading event for the industry. Ten “Digital Lifestyle” showcases demonstrated how Swiss startups use new digital technologies and devices to shape how we will work, live and spend our spare time in the future.

The organizer of Startupfair is Startzentrum Zurich, a non-profit organization created by the City and Canton of Zurich and by Zurich industry. The organizers were delighted with this year’s event: “The many visitors and exhibitors confirm that Startupfair has established itself as the leading national get-together for the Swiss startup industry”, said Gert Christen, founder of Startupfair and CEO of Startzentrum Zurich. The numbers make the third edition of Startupfair the biggest so far: Over 1’700 visitors, 75’000 visits to the Startupfair.ch website and more than 2’500 accesses to the registration platform. Christen adds: “Switzerland needs innovation and startups. With Startupfair we provde them with the ideal stage.”

TRACKTICS won the Startup-Battle
Startup-Battle, the pitching competition for the best startups of Switzerland, was won by TRACKTICS, an innovative system to track and improve the performance of footballers and their teams. The project combines advanced sensors, GPS data and evaluation algorithms into a solution to optimize the training of individual footballers and entire football teams. The founders Patrick Haas and Benjamin Bruder received the trophy and congratulations from the Zurich State Councillor for Economics, Mme Carmen Walker Späh.
