From April 29 to July 15, the first cohort will join the newly launched Social Impact Accelerator in Switzerland. The program aims to boost social entrepreneurship by supporting social ventures through workshops and mentorships. Registration closes on April 4.

Social entrepreneurship sector in Switzerland has grown in recent years with more entrepreneurs endeavouring to solve social or ecological challenges with an entrepreneurial approach. This field has, however, remained unpopular and there is still little support directed towards impact-driven ventures. Moreover, cooperatives, associations and other forms of business without financial profit distribution are still being excluded from existing accelerator programs.

SEIF, in partnership with SENS and supported by Engagement Migros and Stiftung Mercator Schweizis launching the first Social Impact Accelerator (SIA) in Switzerland to close this gap within the Swiss startup ecosystem. As the first Swiss accelerator program, SIA addresses specific challenges and issues of social entrepreneurs. The accelerator focuses on impact and supports startups in a 12-week program with various networking events and several accelerator training days on relevant topics. The program will allow social ventures to enhance their impact-driven business models and secure financial sustainability

At the end of the program, a Social Impact Pitch Day will be held for the startups to present their impact-oriented business ideas to interested investors, philanthropists and partners.
Registration is now open until April 4. Eligible for the program are social impact startups from Switzerland, which through their business models contribute to achieving the SDGs. Selected startups will commence the program on April 29 and close it on July 15.
