2019 might only be a few days old but several award deadlines are already coming up in the following two weeks. Venture leaders in Technology (Silicon Valley), the W. A. de Vigier Foundation Startup Award, the Prix Entreprendre Région Lausanne, the Berner Business Creation Wettbewerb, Startfeld Diamant and the Export Award are awaiting your application.
Venture leaders in Technology
Silicon Valley is calling: The startup development program offers ten selected entrepreneurs who are building a global technology startup the opportunity to win a 10-day business development trip to Silicon Valley. Application deadline is January 6th.
W. A. de Vigier Foundation Startup Award
Recognition for the CEO: the W. A. de Vigier Foundation financially supports young entrepreneurs with innovative business ideas or an already incorporated startup. Unlike most other awards, the W. A. de Vigier Award puts an emphasis on leadership, personality and entrepreneurship of the startup’s CEO among other criteria. Each of the five winners receives a prize money of CHF 100,000 Applications are open until January 7th.
Prix Entreprendre Région Lausanne (PERL)
As the name already indicates, the Prix PERL is dedicated to startups based in the region of Lausanne. Since its inception, Prix PERL has awarded CHF 1.6 million to 72 startups – now the award goes into a new round. Startups (already incorporated or about to be) from every industry can put in their application until January 9th.
Berner Business Creation Wettbewerb
The BBCW, founded by the University of Bern or the University of Applied Sciences Bern, is tailored to the needs of young entrepreneurs who are about to found their own company. All participants receive coaching regarding the creation of their business plan, while the three best ideas receive a total prize money of CHF 18,000. The only participation criteria is residency in Switzerland. Application deadline is January 11th.
Startfeld Diamant
Organised by the St. Gallen Cantonal bank, the Startfeld Diamant recognizes startups of the cantons of St. Gallen and Appenzell Ausserrhoden and awards them with a total of CHF 50,000. This year, an audience award with a prize money of CHF 2,500 will be presented for the first time as well. The application process is open until January 14th.
Export Award
The export award, organized by Switzerland Global Enterprise (S-GE) is open to all Swiss companies that market their products or services internationally. Last year’s winner was the Zurich-based startup On. You can apply for the Export Award until January 15th.
