On December 15th 2018, MPS token sale closed on an extremely positive note as near 100% of the 5% of the tokenized equity of Mt Pelerin Group SA on sale was gone. The Geneva based blockchain startup raises in the process close to CHF 2.14 mio (CHF 1.2 million + ETH 5’028) with investors coming from 28 countries.

Launched in October 2018, Mt Pelerin’s MPS sale was the first time the shares of a company were incorporated into a token and sold without intermediary, which gave the public an unprecedented opportunity to access and afford private equity, a type of investment normally reserved to finance professionals.

During that first stage of the funding, the swiss startup witnessed an incredible range of profiles among investors, with people coming from all over the world with ages ranging from 20 to 84 years old. This amazing diversity and cross-generational involvement is a strong signal that Mt Pelerin's message and ambition for the future hits home.

The remaining 1,893 MPS tokens, representing a value of CHF 9,465, will be kept in standby for the time being and will most likely be used as initial liquidity for exchange trading once the MPS will be listed. All the information regarding exchange listing, MPS token unlock and shareholder registration is available on Mt Pelerin website.

Building the bank of the future

Based in Geneva, Mt Pelerin is a Swiss startup which aims to create a blockchain-based tokenization platform that would bring the entire bank’s balance sheet on chain. The envisioned tokenized banking ecosystem objective is to bring unprecedented service quality, cost competitiveness and investment opportunities to individuals and businesses alike. It would also be the long-awaited bridge between traditional and crypto assets, boosting the platform's global attractiveness.
