From Las Vegas to Shanghai: CES Asia 2019 awaits Swiss startups

Asia’s largest Consumer Electronics Show (CES) for consumer technologies will take place from 11th to 13th June 2019. Like every year, Swiss startups have the opportunity to showcase their innovations, mingle with large brands and compete in awards. Swissnex China invites Swiss startups to submit their applications until 12th March.

CES Asia the largest trade fair for consumer technologies industry in Asia. The event showcases innovation across several vertical industries in the Asian marketplace while providing tech companies, from leading Chinese and global brands to cutting edge startups, a platform to create partnerships, build relationships and reinforce their brand.

Last year, more than 46,000 attended the event, over 500 companies exhibited at the event presenting over 20 product categories in the fields of from Artificial Intelligence augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR), 5G Connectivity and vehicle tech. Like in the previous year, various large tech brands will attend the exhibition. Some of them include 3M, Audio-Technica, Baidu, Continental Automotive Holding, Digital China, Fossil/Misfit among others.

The CES Asia also provides startups the stage to present their solutions. Last year more than 100 startups also exhibited in Startup Park last year. Two Swiss startups received prizes for winning in CES Asia Startup Award. While Kenzen received the best Health startup award for its biosensor wearable patch and an honoree in the category Sports & Fitness Category, SoFlow won the category Best Vehicle Technology Startup for their e-skateboard, Lou. Biowatch also walked away with an honoree prize in Wearables Category.

This year, Swissnex China is once again organizing a Swiss Startup Pavilion at CES Asia 2019 for innovative Swiss Startups to present their solutions to the Asian market. Selected startups will receive a free booth and have the opportunity to pitch to investors. Additionally, Swissnex China is organizing startup coaching programs in which local experts will provide insights into particular aspects of the Chinese startup ecosystem. Startups will also visit a local technology giant in China as well as expand their network.

Swissnex China invites startups with solutions in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Audio/Video, Robotics, Vehicle Technology, Lifestyle Technology, AR/VR, Healthtech and IoT to apply through lijun.zhang@swissnexchina.org. The registration deadline expires on 12 March.
