Seif winner 2017

The 2019 seif Awards go by the motto «Tech for Impact». Seif is looking for impact-driven entrepreneurs in Europe that use technology to contribute to the UN sustainable development goals. Three winners from three categories will each receive CHF 10’000. The application deadline expires on 31st of March.

The seif Awards "Tech for Impact is a business plan competition that seeks to identify and award entrepreneurs who are developing innovative business ideas to tackle the world’s pressing social and environmental problems. This year, seif is particularly looking for ideas that leverage technology to address the United Nations sustainable development goals (UN SDG).

Mariana Christen Jakob, seif Founder, comments: "Innovative technical solutions have a strong potential to tackle our world’s biggest challenges by reaching wide scale social and environmental impact alongside financial revenue. We see a growing movement of tech startups in Switzerland focusing on social and environmental impact and with this, an increasing demand for specialized and professional support that we from seif can offer.“

The jury will identify the most outstanding business plans based on the criteria: technical solution for social and environmental impact, professional skills of the project team, and innovation of the project, social/ecological impact, quality of the business model and financing, proof of concept and replicability and scale. Also during the evaluation process, the jury will assign the candidates to three categories: seif Award for Scalable Solution (supported by seif), seif Award for Responsible Business (PwC) and seif Award for Social Innovation (UBS).

The finalists will have the opportunity to increase their international awareness, gain reputation and present themselves to the jury. Furthermore, they will receive a coaching package, and pitch in front of impact investors. During the award ceremony on 28th of June in Zurich, the jury will bestow a total of CHF 30’000 to the winning ventures of the three categories.

The registration window is now open until 31st March.
