Venture leaders roadshows in Boston and China await applications

The Venture leaders initiative seeks to bring Swiss entrepreneurs closer to industry experts, investors and potential clients to support them on their journey to global expansion. The dates and the programs for the next business development trips to Boston and China are now fixed.

Venture leaders Life sciences – Boston, May 27th to June 3rd, 2018
Boston is the hotsport for MedTech and BioTech startups in the US and plays a significant role for many companies in the field. With their initiative «Venture leaders Life sciences», the Venturelab team brings together startups and players in this field to facilitate learning and exchange.

In the upcoming edition, ten members for the 2018 Swiss National Startup Team Life Sciences will be selected to join the week-long business development trip. An intensive program designed to give them a deeper insight of the US entrepreneurial scene and an opportunity for personal development has been put together.

It comprises of items such as; Private pitching and feedback sessions with top Life Sciences investors, Public pitching and networking events with investors and industry leaders from the greater Boston area, Review and discussions with experts about US market penetration, financing strategies, internationalization and more, Social networking events with US startups, Support for personal business development activities during the whole stay. The Venture leaders may also extend your stay for the BIO2018 Convention.

Eligible to apply are founding and managing members of a Life Sciences Swiss startups who are ready to grow their business in the US with international investors, and seek to build a global Life Sciences startup. Online registration closes on 5^th March, 2018.

Venture leaders China, 10 - 21 September, 2018
For Swiss startups, China is a key market to explore. As fast developing emerging market China is an ideal country for startups to discover the business potential of their innovative product or service in a large market. The Swiss National Startup team for China trip will travel to different parts of China including Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen and Hong Kong. During the ten-day roadshow, they will pitch their business to investors, experts and understand the “Chinese way” of doing business.

Interested startups are invited to submit their application until 26 March 2018. After the registration window has been closed, 20 startups will be invited to pitch before the Jury in Lausanne. Ten startups will make it to the Venture Swiss National Team China of 2018.

The China program comprises of activities such as: Presentation to experts and investors per industry sector, Startup visits, Knowledge workshops with experts in business development, IP, corporate affairs etc., Advanced entrepreneurship training, "Execution workshops", focusing on developing your company, "hands on", Group feedback sessions, Multiple networking events with the high-tech entrepreneurs' scene and Flexibility for personal business development activities during the whole stay. Startups will also attend the WEF in Dalian.
