The Innovation World Cup is world’s leading innovation competition in wearable technologies. Biovotion was selected out of 600 participants from 69 countries.

End of November 2013 the leading competition for innovative wearable technologies, the Wearable Technologies Innovation World Cup, closed its database. Since then, an international panel of experts has evaluated all entries. With over 600 participants from 69 countries, the panel had a huge number of groundbreaking solutions to choose from. The jury selected the five best of each category. Biovotion will present its solution in the category ‘Healthcare & Wellness’, at the Wearable Technologies Conference 2014 Europe, hosted at the International Congress Center Munich next week.

Biovotion’s Vital Sign Monitor (VSM) is a wearable multi-sensor platform for continuous, non-invasive monitoring of physiological parameters. Measurements are securely transmitted to a portable device, such as a smartphone, for further processing and transmission into cloud storage. The device can be discretely and comfortably worn on the upper arm during regular activities without the inconveniences associated with the common finger pulse oximeters. It has been demonstrated that the VSM platform provides vital sign data quality on par with standard hospital devices.

The Innovation World Cup was first launched in 2009. The world’s leading innovation competition in wearable technologies invites contestants from all over the world to submit innovative solutions for wearable technologies in the areas of sports & fitness, healthcare & wellness, gaming & lifestyle and security & prevention. This year the WT Innovation World Cup also includes three Special Prizes. An international panel of industry experts will select the most innovative products according to criteria such as level of innovation, marketability, and usability. The WT Innovation World Cup is sponsored by companies such as STMicroelectronics, Texas Instruments, Samsung Semiconductor Europe, Allianz Digital Accelerator.
