Jean-Pierre Frottier starts as new CEO for Naviswiss. The founder Bruno Knobel remains CTO, focusing on product development. C. Walsoe complements the management team as CFO.

Naviswiss develops and commercializes a new generation of handheld, miniaturized and easy-to-use surgical measurement and navigation systems. The systems are like a GPS for surgeons that allow to better and more quickly position the implants during orthopaedic replacement operations (e.g. hip and knee replacements). The company was founded in 2007 and is based in Laufen.

The start-up made some progress in 2012. In March Naviswiss announced first successful clinical trials in dental implantology with a prototype. In October the first patent was granted to the company in the US. And in November the company announced that it has concluded an exclusive licensing agreement for the use of a miniaturized navigation system in dental and maxillofacial applications with a company offering comprehensive planning and navigation in these fields of use. Naviswiss will contract develop the miniaturized navigation system for its licensing partner.

Now a new CEO joined the company: Jean-Pierre Frottier. The founder Bruno Knobel (Dr. sc.nat. ETH) remains CTO, focusing on product development.
