Even though industrial robots are sold in ever-growing quantities, only incremental improvements have been made to increase the robots’ performance. All robotic products available on the market today are limited to handling parts individually and sequentially, which slows down production processes and supply chains.
The paradigm shift proposed by Isochronic’s team of highly experienced professionals enables industrial robots to transport several parts simultaneously, thus vastly outperforming current systems. The startup develops a previously unknown mechanical kinematic that is modular and expandable to fit a broad range of customer requirements. Isochronic’s technology also aims to reduce energy consumption and operating costs compared to currently available systems.
Isochronic’s technology provides new possibilities for various industrial sectors ranging from food packaging operations―a market of more than CHF 7 billion―to pharmaceutical, medical and electronic product handling. Quality inspection, palletizing, and assembly applications are also areas Isochronic can improve.
Isochronic was founded by Dr. Melvin Haas (CEO) and co-founders Dr. Albrecht Lindner (CTO) and Pierre-Alain Buchs (Chief Engineer). In the coming months, Isochronic will realize its first customer projects with existing pilot customers. The startup plans to advance product development to advance several new patents in collaboration with partners supporting the expansive research and development activities. “Venture Kick brought us in contact with many key players in the Swiss entrepreneurship landscape and helped us find our first investors,” said Melvin Haas, Isochronic co-founder and CEO.
