The collaboration between the pan European early stage investing network and Europe’s leading climate innovation initiative will focus on exploring innovative ways of early stage investment capacity building and launching joint activities designed to increase visibility between investors and climate change start-ups. A first joint pitching event will take place this week.

Climate-KIC is the EU's largest public private partnership addressing climate change through innovation to build a zero carbon economy. Supported by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology, the organisation is one of the leading voices in identifying and supporting innovation that helps society mitigate and adapt to climate change. The initiative supported numerous Swiss start-ups in the past and has recently announced ten Swiss companies which will join the 2019 summer batch of the Climate-KIC accelerator program.

Emilie Normann, Director of Entrepreneurship at EIT Climate-KIC, said, “Collaborating with reliable investment syndication partners is critical for EIT Climate-KIC in running a pan-European Accelerator programme. EIT Climate-KIC is expanding its engagement with impact investors; working with GoBeyond is an exciting opportunity”.

GoBeyond’s community of over 800 angel investors invests in a variety of sectors and geographies and continue to show a keen interest in impact. This collaboration will allow GoBeyond investors to get access to highly-vetted startups in the impact space and support those they believe in while benefiting from the sector-specific expertise from both organizations.

First joint event
The investment was formally confirmed on Thursday 4th April. To support the growth of early-stage impact startups through collaboration and community integration, Climate-KIC and GoBeyond are organizing an online pitching event on April 10th, 2019. The agenda includes 2 keynotes focussed on impact investing and 3 pitches from curated Climate-KIC startups who are at the forefront of delivering the solutions of tomorrow.
