Dua platform

Since its launch in January, Matchmaking platform dua.com has grown the number of active users from zero to +150’000 with an 11.5 percent month-on-month increase. The company has secured €1’150'000 in its seed round in 2020 to further boost its growth.

While there are over 272M migrants worldwide, there is a lack of platforms to connect diasporans with people from the same cultural backgrounds. By combining experience, technology and build easy-to-use software, the Zurich-based startup dua AG fills this gap by offering a Diaspora Intelligent platform to facilitate networking, matchmaking, and communication among community members worldwide as well as enable them to conduct transactions. The app is available in three languages.

Since the go-live of the App, Dua has seen an upward growth with more than 348’322 app downloads and 151’042 active users. More than 305 million events have occurred, 122’509 messages are sent daily (as of January 2021) and more than one million matches have been made. Overall the company boasts of its 11.5 percent month on month growth in users and over 23 percent growth in user activity.

To further accelerate growth and further empower communities through its a state-of-the-art community platform, dua AG has banked a total of € 1’150’000 in its seed round last year. With the majority of participants being Angel investors, the company saw the participation of both national and international investors. The funds will glow into further product development to ensure product-market-fit and in marketing activities to grow the number of users. As part of its future plans, dua AG plans to launch a premium subscription and the Series A financing round this year.
