With a 40% year on year revenue growth and success in existing markets, cosmetics company Abhati Suisse announced its expansion in Germany and the Netherlands. Its products are available in selected lifestyle stores and hair salons.

Founded by Anju Rupal, Abhati Suisse is a Switzerland-based hair and skin-care brand developing natural products by combining technology with natural ingredients sourced directly from farmers and accredited suppliers.

In 2014 Abhati launched its first products in the market, including “One Hand Washes the Other”, a handwashing soap free from artificial chemicals, preservatives, colourants, petroleum derivatives and sulfates. Today, with a core team of four members, Abhati boasts an assortment of 11 products are available at its online store in Switzerland and through partners such as Credo Beauty in the US and Mecca cosmetics in Australia.

Despite the pandemic, the company was able to attract more customers and launched a shampoo bar to reduce packaging waste. Building on its success in the existing markets marked by a 40% year-on-year growth (as of 2020), Abhati Suisse has expanded to Germany and the Netherlands with partners from selected lifestyle stores and hair salons.

This expansion is in line with its growth plan, including spreading its footprint in new markets such as India through a partnership with the global cosmetics company Sephora. The company will also expand its product range; as revealed by Rupal, five new products will enter the market in spring 2021. While the core focus has been on end consumers, Abhati will expand its customer base to include B2B customers during the next phase.

Environmental and social responsibility remains essential
Besides supporting the environment, Abhati also gives back to society by supporting farmers, the local population and the environment through education initiatives and reforestation projects. The company donates a percentage of profits to Educate Girls, a nonprofit organisation working with schools in India to boost the enrollment and attendance of girls. To date, the Abhati brand has helped over 300,000 girls access education.
