More than 130 Swiss startup founders have already joined the SuperFounder mentoring platform launched by Edouard Treccani. To better understand the goals and the achievements of the platform, Startupticker.ch had the opportunity to ask a few questions to the initiator and founder of the initiative.

Can you present the SuperFounder platform to our readers in a few? What makes it unique?

SuperFounder is a platform that enables early-stage startups to connect with experienced founders for advice and mentoring. We have gathered 130+ of the best founders from Switzerland and act as a super-connector to help startups find a mentor as early as possible in their journey.

How did the idea come about? How long have you been working on the project?

I come from the world of startup accelerators. What I witnessed over the past 4 years is that most of the mentors gravitating in the ecosystem lack operational experience in a startup: this is a problem that has direct consequences on the quality of the advice received by the startups. Last November, I built a landing page which I sent to some founders for feedback. Their feedback confirmed my intuition and I decided to scale the project.

Why should startups register for SuperFounder? What can they expect? Is it free for them?

SuperFounder is entirely free and the startups should apply as early as possible (ideation stage, pre-seed and seed). You simply submit a form on SuperFounder’s website, we review your application and share it with relevant founders on the platform. We then introduce you to the founders who expressed an interest in meeting you. It takes a few minutes and can literally change the course of your startup.

How many founders are already part of the platform? Can you give us some names? Do you already have feedback?

We are now over 130 founders on the platform, including 60 who realised an exit. That includes people like Dennis Just from Knip, Fabio Ronga from Beqom, Dorina Thiess from Piavita, Killian Wagner from VIU and Alex Ilic from Dacuda. I have done some experiments with 12 startups so far, resulting in an average of 2 meetings per startup.

When is the official launch planned?

Our website is already live at https://superfounder.co and the startups can apply. I encourage them to do so as early as possible, even if they just have an idea: the earlier we see a startup, the more impact our introductions can have.

What are the next steps? Do you have one or more goals for the coming months?

Yes, I’m working towards three goals. First, fostering interactions among founders: this will be done through regular lunches and dinners organized with the association Swisspreneur. Second, promoting startup ideation and feedback through a series of events at universities. Third, building an investment syndicate to co-invest in the best startups we will have helped at pre-seed and seed.
