The Tech Tour Growth Summit held in Geneva showcased the Top50 scale-ups in Europe; six startups with their roots in Switzerland made it to the rank. The super scale-ups have the potential to become tomorrow’s unicorns.

The annual international Tech Tour Growth 50 summit held in Geneva brought together the audience to witness the crowning of the Top50 yet to be unicorns, selected out of 400 European businesses and fast-growing, high-tech firms.

Also referred to as "Super Scale-Ups", the Top50 companies have the potential to generate millions of dollars in revenue and to join the group of unicorns, or privately-held companies valued at over $1 billion.

Six Startups are from Switzerland. They are:

Flyability - developed drones that can safely explore hard-to-reach places that would be dangerous or impossible for humans to access.

Kandou - supplies technology that allows computer chips to exchange data with each other faster and with less energy.

Nexthink - provides managers with tools to enhance their employees’ digital experience. With Nexthink, IT managers can cut costs, boost system reliability and improve data security.

Beekeeper - developed the first mobile communications platform for more than 1.7 billion non-desk workforces. The platform reaches every shift, location, and language through real-time one-on-one and group messaging.

GetYourGuide - offers a booking platform for travel experiences. The ETH Zurich spinoff has to-date sold over 25 million tour and activity tickets through its platform. GetYourGuide is today based in Berlin.

Wefox - offers a digital marketplace that connects insurance companies with brokers to offer customers a simplified and more intuitive user experience. Currently has 300 insurance companies on the marketplace and serves more than 450.000 consumers. Wefox was founded in Switzerland and has its headquarters in Berlin.

Three of the startups are also among the  Vaud scaleups. According to Patrick Barbey, Director of Innovaud, “Having Vaud scale-ups in the Tech Tour Growth 50 reflects the strength of our innovation ecosystem here in Vaud, as well as in Switzerland as a whole. These companies have reached a point where they can start achieving their ambitious business development goals on the international stage.”
