CHF 700k to fuel Smeetz growth

Smeetz has just closed a CHF 700k Pre-Series A funding round with SICTIC investor network. This brings the total amount raised by the Lausanne based startup to CHF 1.4 Mio. This funding will be used to support the continuous expansion of the team and the development of their services.

Founded in 2017, Smeetz offers much more than a booking service, it offers numerous marketing and guests management features. Smeetz augmented marketing and sales software can be integrated into any organiser’s website and help them increase their revenue through direct sales, smart pricing, advanced sales predictions and more effective digital communication.

The startup has now raised CHF 0.7 million from Swiss ICT Investor Club and various business angels. This brings the total amount raised by the Lausanne based startup to CHF 1.4 million. 

According to Alexandre Martin, CEO & founder of Smeetz, the success of this funding round is mainly based on the market traction demonstrated during the year and the satisfaction of current customers.
Thanks to its validated market traction, Smeetz aims to become the leading marketing and sales software for leisure activities by offering an expanding number of services such as smart pricing and advanced sales forecasts to a wide range of activities such as theatre, nightclub, festival and even museums.

Smeetz has also gained a lot of visibility this year thanks to its participation in different accelerator programs like MassChallenge Switzerland. Last summer, Smeetz was also awarded a CHF 200,000 “FIT Digital Growth by EHL” that was used to support the development of the sales and marketing team and to prepare this Pre-series A funding round. The next funding round, a 2.5mio Series A, is expected in the first half of 2021.
 

Expanding in Switzerland and Europe
Smeetz validated its market traction in Romandie and is now used by numerous leisure activity organisers, major nightclubs, tourist offices, theatres and festivals. Smeetz has recently entered the Swiss-german market and projects to enter the European market very soon. The Lausanne based startup plans to continue to gain new customers through the development of two key aspects of their services : marketing integrations and an AI powered pricing model.

Smart pricing in the works
The Swiss startup is finalising a smart pricing model powered by artificial intelligence. This model encourages users to book in advance to benefit from attractive discounts and helps the organisers to better schedule their marketing efforts and staff. Prices for an activity will evolve with different factors such as the demand, weather forecasts, and sales evolution. This smart pricing model, a more sophisticated version of dynamic pricing, is powered by data and machine learning.
