The Founder Institute: Transitioning from employee to entrepreneur

Based in Silicon Valley with chapters across 170 cities and 65 countries, the Founder Institute has the mission to “globalize Silicon Valley,” and empower talented and motivated entrepreneurs to build companies that will create one million new jobs.

Leaders of the world’s fastest-growing startups have used the program to transition from employee to entrepreneur, test their startup ideas, build a team, get their first customers, raise funding and more. Today, the program counts more than 3,500 graduates that benefit from the program and have now raised over $800M funding. Some of the graduates include companies such as Udemy, Realty Mogul, Travelcar, goplaceit, Appota, among others.

Now in the tenth year since the founding in 2009, the accelerator has launched a new chapter in Zurich «Founder Zurich Institute 2019». Aspiring early stage entrepreneurs and teams with the intent to build a food and agri-focused company can now register to participate in the program.  

“Our global business building program, combined with the many talented food- and agri-tech entrepreneurs in Zurich will undoubtedly lead to the growth of several meaningful startups that will support the flourishing Swiss food and agriculture sector,” says Adeo Ressi, Founder & CEO of the Founder Institute.

During the acceleration program from April 24 to July 10, 2019, selected startups will receive feedback and mentorship from top FoodTech Experts in Switzerland, access to a local and global support network of entrepreneurs, investors, and advisors from the founder institute’s global network. They will also attend several "Fellowships" awarded to the top food-tech applicants, allowing them to participate in the program at no cost, as well as the opportunity to land over €1.5M in Partner Deals and Resources.

Aspiring founders may now submit their applications before April 14th, 2019.
