With thousands of customers around the world and more than +220'000 followers across all social networks, women's jewelry brand LEO MAZZOTTI  has come a long way since 2016, when the startup was launched by brothers Mikael Schaub and Bryan Schaub in Geneva with an investment of about 1000€.

Beauty can be found in simplicity. This is the motto of LEO MAZZOTTI, a Geneva based startup specializing in the creation and sale of women's jewelry. Created by Bryan and Mikael Schaub, two brothers wanting to show that beauty can be found in simple things, the team made every possible effort to develop jewelry different from what we can see nowadays, while remaining simple and chic. A simplicity and minimalism appreciated by the brand’s community.

Inspired during a trip to Italy

At the end of 2016, during a trip to Italy, Bryan Schaub explains that he and his brother met a man named Leo Mazzotti. They heard his name because he introduced himself to some people next to them. This man perfectly embodied class and Italian simplicity. He wore a sober, black, knot-shaped bracelet, which he had made himself. Back in Geneva, after a discussion about entrepreneurship and marketing, they set themselves the goal of taking inspiration from this very simple and chic knot shape and creating a collection of accessories for women: giving birth to the Dolce Vita Classic collection. By naming their brand LEO MAZZOTTI, both brothers wanted to honor this man.

As Bryan Schaub explains, the company today has nearly 40,000 clients around the world. Their community is growing day by day and the brand has currently nearly 225,000 followers on all social networks. LEO MAZZOTTI is present on several social medias like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, etc. Speaking of money, the company that started  with about 1000€ makes today a 7 numbers annual turnover.

Passion and work to tackle the challenges

So what were the major challenges the brothers had to face in the last 3 years? Bryan and Mikael knew that creating a startup was not going to be easy, but did not realize the degree of difficulty. Their respective paths were not at all predestined for such a project: Bryan who is 22 years old is a student at the University and his brother works in an architecture office. They had to learn everything to carry out their project: product design, marketing basics, negotiations, visuals, and so on. Understanding this new world was a challenge as was staying patient before making the first sales.

Both brothers think the important thing is to be patient and to be passionate about the process. The results will not be immediate but with patience and a desire to learn the different abilities to acquire, the objectives will be achieved gradually. Entrepreneurs must stay motivated and patient throughout the startup launch and not give up at the first obstacles.

Busy year coming for LEO MAZZOTTI

The Geneva based startup is getting ready for a busy 2019 year. The Schaub brothers plan to launch new colors for their main bracelet and design other style bracelets, while playing on simplicity. Their main goal is to expand their presence, online and offline, to become a reference in E-Commerce for women's jewelry. They would also like to schedule events to meet their content creators, influencers and customers. As Bryan Schaub explains: It is important for us to meet in real life the different people we work with.”
