Baselaunch has launched the second edition of its call for applications. Sought for are projects in the pre-seed and seed funding stage. Ten projects will be incubated for three months and only three of them will proceed to with the program for an additional year with financial support of up to CHF250,000.

The first edition of BaseLaunch healthcare accelerator programme was successful with more than 100 project submissions from more than 30 countries. Six projects entered phase two and four of them including two Swiss startups such as T3 Pharmaceuticals and Anaveon received funding of up to CHF250’000.

The BaseLaunch support program is now going into the second round of applications. Entrepreneurs that have a healthcare based project at the pre-seed or seed funding stage, are invited to submit their applications to the programme.

After the application deadline on 14 May, 10 promising projects to will be admitted to the accelerator program for a period of 15 months. The program runs in two phases. In phase I (September to November 2018), the ten startups will benefit from the support of industry experts, office- and laboratory space free of charge and access to its Healthcare partners. After phase 1, they will be invited to present their idea to the selection committee who will determine three startups that will proceed to phase two (January – December 2019). These will receive non-dilutive cash of up to CHF250’000 for the successful implementation of their business ideas in the Basel region.

Baselaunch is backed by five industry leaders — Johnson & Johnson Innovation, Novartis Venture Fund, Pfizer, Roche and Roivant Sciences — as well as by other public and private partners.
