The Debiopharm / Inartis Challenge is a business idea competition with the aim to promote innovation in the field of hospital patient care in Switzerland. The goal of this challenge is to accelerate innovative projects as well as their commercialisation.

The quality of patient care in Switzerland is considered of a high level, however being in a hospital for a long time can be psychologically straining. Activities oriented to entertain and stimulate the patients can have high impact on the recovery rate. Based on this observation the Debiopharm / Inartis Challenge aims to accelerate innovative projects to improve the overall quality of patients care and make the time in the hospital more pleasant for them, suggesting faster and better recovery.

Depending on the number of submitted projects for the Challenge and their quality between 3 to 5 will be selected by the jury for acceleration. To be selected the projects should be innovative, feasible, preferably linked with Academia and/or Industry, and have an impact on the end-user and have a potential socioeconomic impact.

The fund for the prizes is CHF 50’000.-. First place will be awarded with a CHF 25’000.- prize and the rest of the money will be distributed between the finalists. Additionally Inartis Foundation will provide the support and coaching to the projects close to commercialization. The wining start-ups will get also the opportunity to meet investors.

The Challenge organized by Debiopharm and the Inartis Foundation is open to young professionals but the organizers encourage also students and employees of Universities and Research Centers (in Switzerland) to submit their ideas and projects for the Challenge.

The projects must be submitted by April 30th 2016 23:59 by mail or post. Interested candidates can learn more about the challenge on the website http://challenges.inartis.ch/
