Experienced managers and researchers join start-ups

Ernst Arn will serve as CEO of the Agritech start-ups databaum from January 2023. He will complement the management team around Johannes (Joe) Eifert, CTO, and Saurabh Pandey, PhD, PhD, CSO. Ernst Arn brings extensive experience from the agricultural industry and has a proven track record of developing and growing businesses in the agriculture ecosystem. He has been successfully leading Simmental Switzerland AG and Terralog AG as a CEO to new heights. Furthermore, he has been engaged for 11 years in various entities of the KWS Group as a Managing Director. Databaum develops sensors and AI-solutions for farmers to increase the yield and to save water and pesticides at the same time.

Frontify: New CMO to develop the US market

Frontify, the leading provider of brand management software, appointed Rebecca Rosborough as Chief Marketing Officer. Rosborough joins Frontify with more than 15 years of experience growing the marketing function at companies in the U.S. and internationally. Prior to joining Frontify, Rosborough served as the Global CMO and board member based out of New York City for programmatic ad tech company MiQ. She oversaw all global marketing and communications functions. Prior to MiQ, Rosborough worked as the Global CMO at Teads, a media platform, and was responsible for the overall management and operations of the global Marketing and Communications department across 18 markets, resulting in its sale to Altice, a multinational telecommunications company.

HpVac: Significant expansion of allergy research expertise

HpVac, a company developing novel preventive and therapeutic first-line therapies against allergic and inflammatory diseases, announced that Joana Vitte, MD, PhD, Habil. will be joining HpVac as Chief Scientific Officer.

Joana Vitte is an experienced scientist with a strong track record in allergy diagnostics and clinical research. She has a joint position as Associate Professor of Immunology at Aix-Marseille University and the University Hospital of Marseille and is also Associate Researcher at the Institut d'Épidémiologie et de Santé Publique (IDESP) of the University of Montpellier. She is also Vice President for science and education at the French Society of Allergology.

HpVac´s therapeutic concept is based on the observation that certain components of the human gut microbiome confer protection against various diseases. The Company´s lead compound HpVac-R13 is a molecule harnessing the beneficial potential of some microbial species.

Oncobit: A boost for commercialisation activities

Bjoern Biedermann has joined Oncobit as Chief Business Officer. He brings more than 12 years of experience in the life science and diagnostic industry, in both international corporations and start-ups. With his expertise in sales, marketing, business development and customer support, Bjoern Biedermann will coordinate all of Oncobit's commercialization activities.

Oncobit is a MedTech spin-off from the University of Zurich, developing precision diagnostic and monitoring assays for personalized cancer care. Oncobit’s products aim to provide a detailed understanding of genomic cancer alterations throughout the patient’s treatment history. The company is currently focused on melanoma, but Oncobit’s approach is data-centric, modular, and expandable to other cancer types in the future. Oncobit has obtained ISO13485 certification for the design, development, and manufacturing of in vitro diagnostics in March 2022.
