Plair, focussing on professional systems for preventive environment monitoring, reinforces the team with two new board members. In addition, the Geneva-based company announced that it will be supported by the Swiss Climate Foundation.

The systems of Plair can be applied wherever precise and instantaneous identification of environmental hazards is required. The range of detection includes, but is not limited to, allergens such as pollen, fungi, air pollution, and even bacteria. Recently, the pharmaceutical and food industries’ showed an increasing interest in Plair’s technology. The company was now able to attract experienced professionals with a strong background and network in these fields as new board members.

Regi Aalstad, a native of Norway, who graduated with a Master of Business Administration in International Business from the University of Michigan, USA. She has over 25 years of international experience in fast-moving consumer goods with industry leader Procter & Gamble. Ms. Aalstad has held several General Manager and Vice President positions for P&G in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and Asia in paper and hygiene products. A member of multiple management boards, she brings industrial, marketing, operation and leadership experience to Plair.

Didier Cowling, from the United Kingdom, who graduated from Cambridge University in Natural Sciences. He started his carrier as an investment analyst at HSBC and then moved to the pharmaceutical industry as Director of Business Development at Phairson Medical Ltd. Subsequently, Mr. Cowling co-founded Kuros Biosurgery AG in early 2002 and served as its Chief Executive Officer until 2017. In 2016, Kuros Biosurgery AG merged with Cytos Biotechnology and was renamed Kuros Biosciences AG, becoming public on the Swiss Exchange. A serial entrepreneur and board member, Mr. Cowling brings to Plair his deep knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and hands-on startup experience.

In addition, Plair announced that the company was selected by the Swiss Climate Foundation and will receive direct financial support in 2020 for its contribution to reducing CO2 emissions.

The award-winning project entails testing its technology in agricultural settings in Switzerland to demonstrate its ability to reduce treatments and related advantages. The aim is to provide producers with precise and real-time information on fungal disease propagation for a more effective and targeted use of fungicides. Treating less also leads to lowering the need to use machinery. The combined reductions in treatments and machinery use decrease CO2 emissions.
