Start-ups at Technopark Luzern attract investors

Seven companies at the Technopark Lucerne closed financing rounds this year. CHF1 million was raised by TwentyGreen alone. In total, seven start-ups raised more than CHF4 million.

Technopark Lucerne includes today 30 start-ups. The Technopark supports startups in solving their main problems including financing. This year no less than seven companies were able to close financing rounds. “We are very much pleased about the funding success of our start-ups, as we see “enabling the funding of startups” as our main task as startup support organisation”, comments Hansruedi Lingg, CEO Technopark Luzern.

The seven start-ups that were able to attract investors are:

TwentyGreen produces a new probiotic feed supplement for sustainable animal farming, exerting several beneficial effects simultaneously: Animals grow faster with the same amount of feed – thus reducing feed cost; animals are healthier, requiring fewer antibiotic interventions – thus easing disease burden and antibiotic effluence; animals create less waste and pollution – thus reducing the ecological impact of animal farming. The start-up has closed a seed financing round of CHF1 million.

Forensity’s product FAST is an innovative application to get easier and faster more matches with shoe prints from crime scenes. Business Angels from Business Angels Switzerland and another investor invested about CHF500k.

Magcath develops a new solution for women suffering from urinary stress incontinence. The solution is a soft, gentle tube that stays inserted all day and provides the user full control over when her bladder is voided. The Swiss-Danish start-up has closed a seed round of CHF900k.

1Cryobio closed an early stage round. The start-up is dedicated to the design and manufacture of innovative labware to improve storage and handling of laboratory samples. The first product is a novel system to remove clearly defined segments of a cryogenic sample without thawing the remaining sample.

Avantyard develops lifestyle products for people who are attracted to a convenient style of living. The first product is FreezyBoy, a compost bin for the kitchen that cools the kitchen waste to -5° C. Apart from a very successful crowdfunding campaign for FreezyBoy the start-ups has also closed a seed financing round.

Azurito supports the blue light industry, regional governing bodies, security companies and those active in related fields with cloud-based, hybrid applications. Azurito’s cloud solution FireTab connects all participants with the latest data so that every incident command post is better and more quickly informed and organised. Azurito has closed an early stage round this year.

SQUITEK develops, produces and sells ink staining systems to secure and protect cash in custody or in transit. The fintech start-up has closed an early stage financing round this year.
