The three day experience of Lift covers a broad range of topics from how to stay on top of innovation cycles, anticipate trends in the futures of work, learn how counter cultures inspire business as well as a session dedicated to the growing importance of algorithms and their influence on our daily lives. One of the most talked-about scientists, Mark Post, will present his first "in-vitro hamburger" in the bio hacking session.

Remarkable speakers will take to the stage at Lift14: Porter Erisman, former VP of Alibaba.com turned film director, the creative director of the New York Times R&D Lab Alexis Lloyd will discuss innovation strategies, and Fabio Gramazio - world-class architect using robots to re-connect architects to how buildings get built - will discuss their integration in the future of work. Juval Dieziger - co-founder of one of Berlin's most ambitious urban concept: Holzmarkt - will present in the session on Counter Culture Inspiring Industries alongside David Pescovitz, co-founder of Boing Boing who will tell us how they grew from a small print fanzine to one of the most popular blogs on the web, attracting over 5 million monthly visitors.

25+ Interactive Workshops
The collaborative design practice Superflux will embark participants on a reflection about the "Work Environment in 2040 and Beyond". Meanwhile, the New York Times research lab will host a workshop on how to design strategies reacting to algorithms. Many more workshops will allow participants to take a hands-on approach to current themes including smart data, the maker movement, alpine futures, design ethnography, prototyping the self or business opportunities related to new markets such as privacy asylums.

As an innovation platform, Lift supports startups by hosting the much expected Venture Night promoting the Swiss startup scene in an entertaining evening open to the public on Thursday 6th February. In addition, the Seedstars World competition final will showcase startups from emerging markets, in a Pre-Lift14 event on Tuesday February 4th 2014. There will be Pre-Lift drinks and a screening of the award-winning movie “Crocodile in the Yangtze”, telling the story of a westerner inside China's Alibaba.com by Porter Erisman.
