Robert Blum, an entrepreneur and technology expert known for founding and leading loyalty cards platform Poinz has invested in Coachbetter. He will support the startup in as a strategic advisor to drive the startup’s growth.
Zurich-based startup coachbetter is the only fully digital and integrated football coaching platform and app for associations, clubs and coaches from grassroots to professional level. The startup offers solutions including complete training sessions and individual activities composed by coaching experts, a team management and data section, and a high-quality knowledge pool. It also provides a video analysis section, allowing coaches to upload videos and tag individual players to improve their game. All information can be shared with the individual players in the app.
Eight-time German champion Borussia Dortmund selected coachbetter for coaching education and player development in the BVB Evonik Football Academy and all partner clubs and academies worldwide in over 16 countries. After Hudl, a global leader in analysis, joined forces with the Swiss Sportstech startup, Finnish sports technology company Polar followed, enabling clubs such as FC Eintracht Northeim to benefit from the technology.
In preparation for its international growth, coachbetter has won Robert Blum as an investor and strategic advisor to the company. Blum has more than 15 years of experience in developing marketplace businesses, especially in the mobile market. He built and grew poinz, the leading loyalty platform in Switzerland which boasts more than one million users and 1900 partners. He also has a strong, operational focus on UX and product development in the B2C and B2B sectors, a valuable skill set for coachbetter.
In addition to his investment, he will provide advisory support to help the startup achieve its growth goals. Blum played football for more than 20 years, making him a perfect match for coachbetter.
