The ClimateLaunchpad competition for green business ideas is now open for application. Selected startups will attend a 2-day boot camp and receive coaching. Top three National winners will be invited to compete for a prize of € 10,000 at the Global Final. Registration is now open.

ClimateLaunchpad is the biggest cleantech start-up competition worldwide supporting the best cleantech startups. Last year 1,000 green business ideas were submitted in 35 countries across the globe. Switzerland's Medusoil took home the second prize. The 2018 edition has now launched. Individuals from Switzerland are invited to submit their applications.

The competition is organised in three phases.

At the national level, which comprises of two phases, selected candidates will first be invited to join the Climate Launchpad two-day boot camp and coaching sessions. They will receive support in the following weeks after the boot camp as they transform their idea to into solid plan and later pitch it to the audience during National Final. Top 3 winners will be selected and awarded different prizes including cash and admission to the Startup Academy Incubator Program where they will be guided as they perfect their pitch, value proposition and business model. Travel and accommodation costs to the Grand finale will also be covered.

At the global level the top three national candidates from each participating country will gather to compete in the international Grand Final in Cyprus. Top-10 competitors in the Grand Final will get direct access to the Climate-KIC Accelerator to further develop their ideas. The overall winner of the Grand Final receives € 10,000, the runner up gets € 5,000 and the idea that comes in third place wins € 2,500. All other National Finalists who made it to the Grand Final will have the opportunity to pitch their idea to the review board of Climate-KIC Accelerator.

Eligible to apply are individuals who have not yet started a business or have started it less than one year ago; they have no substantial revenue; have attracted no more than € 200,000 in investment; and have not yet sold products, solutions or prototypes on commercial terms.

Registration closes on 10th May 2018.
