Innovate4climate (I4C) is a joint initiative developed by Climate-KIC and several partners. One of the elements is a three stage accelerator programme. People with ideas with the potential to substantially reduce greenhouse gas emissions – or to facilitate climate change adaptation should apply now for the first part of the programme.

The I4C summer challenge 2014 is accepting applications for the best ideas to tackle climate change. Every person can submit up to three ideas that fulfill the following criteria:

  • You have not yet founded a company.
  • At least one member of the team already lives in Switzerland and you are planning to work in/from Switzerland.
  • Clear Start-Up objective: you are planning to create a company and your idea can be financially sustainable.
  • Clear climate impact: your idea has the potential to substantially reduce greenhouse gas emissions or to mitigate climate change.

Ideas that fit the requirements can win seed funding of up to CHF 15’000 to develop a business model. Successful teams will get the opportunity to receive further financial support in the future. On top of this the winners of the I4C summer challenge 2014 become part of an incubation program including access to coaching, expert support, master classes, exposure and access to talent as well as networking support from the Climate-KIC, Impact Hub Zürich and WWF Switzerland.

Ideas can be submitted on  https://innovate4climate.ch until June 24 (midnight).
