For the first time, Climate-KIC Entrepreneurship Switzerland awarded Proof of Concept (PoC) Funding of CHF 60,000 to L.E.S.S., acompany that is working on more efficient LED-Displays. Runnners-up of the grant are Climeworks and ElectricFeel.

Climate-KIC aims to significantly accelerate the innovation required for a transformation to a low-carbon economy, and to ensure Europe benefits from new technologies, company growth and jobs. Climate-KIC’s entrepreneurship programme targets to  generate more climate-related start-up companies, help starters grow faster and accelerate market growth to the businesses.

For the first time, Climate-KIC Entrepreneurship Switzerland awarded Proof of Concept (PoC) Funding  of CHF 60,000 to L.E.S.S., a start-up from Lausanne. Light Efficient SystemS provides a new technology based on nano-structured waveguides which enables the implementation of energy efficient distributed illumination devices. The patented technology opens new routes in designing innovative green lighting systems. It is particularly well adapted to be integrated in low power consumption portable devices.

Runners-up to the grant which will receive CHF 42,000 each are Climeworks for their indoor CO2 removal demonstrators as well as  ElectricFeel for their e-bike sharing demonstrator.
