Zug based blockchain startup Blockimmo is among the eight startups joining Denmark’s first fintech accelerator. Blockimmo developed a platform that facilitates shared property investments and ownership.

Last year, Accelerace, Copenhagen Fintech and two large banks; Nykredit and Danske Bank joined forces to form the first Danish fintech accelerator, Copenhagen Fintech Accelerator, with the goal of attracting global talent to the Nordic fintech ecosystem.

The accelerator provides selected startups from all over the free workspace, access to a broad network, mentorship and a solid accelerator program. In addition, the startups have the opportunity of getting a pre-seed investment or win a collaboration contract with one of the partners.

Out of more than 130 applications from 35 countries, only eight startups were selected, making up the first cohort that will enter the Copenhagen FinTech Accelerator in February. During the next six months, the startups will work towards developing new solutions that bring value to the banks, customers, and the society.

Blockimmo, based in Zug, is among the entrants in the accelerator. The startup is operating a peer-to-peer platform to facilitate real-estate transactions based on the blockchain technology. The platform significantly lowers the barrier of entry into the real-estate investment market by enabling ownership in small stakes and making prime investment opportunities accessible to the public.

Real-estate investments can be easily liquidated at any time through the platform or any regulated exchange, without the need for an intermediary. Investors regularly receive dividends as their properties generate income and the value of investments increase as properties appreciate. Sellers address a much larger audience of investors while relying less on middlemen and intermediaries. All, resulting in a simple, transparent transaction process with significantly reduced fees and overhead. The startup launched the platform last year in December and holds a regulatory approval in Switzerland.

According to Accelerence news, Blockimmo has been selected due to its innovative solution: the world’s first ‘tokenization’ of real-estate. The acceleration program will kick off in February.

Blockimmo now joins Avatronics in Denmark
Last year in November, Avatronics was selected among the seven startups that joined Accelerace's sound tech program in Denmark to fine tune, test, identify, and execute their business models with experts from Accelerace and Sound Hub Denmark. Avatronics developed the AVA Active Noise Cancellation Solution, a wide-band ANC capable of selectively canceling all unwanted noises without compromising the quality of music or speech.
