Founded in 2019 by Christopher Meignier, BLENT has set up at the EHL Innovation Village. The start-up has just received a Food & Hospitality loan by EHL of CHF 200’000 from the Foundation for Technological Innovation (FIT). The new funds enable Blent to develop its team and expand with its data collection platform into several markets.

The hospitality industry is growing rapidly but still faces many challenges, particularly the shortage of employees and volatility in the market. Therefore, responsiveness and optimisation in this sector are essential for the success of a company.

To this end managers need to be able to monitor the real-time evolution of their company in the market and make reliable forecasts in order to make the best factual decisions. However, reporting in the hospitality industry is a complex and expensive department. It is often carried out manually and is therefore very time- consuming. The available data are not necessarily up to date and are often stored in different specific systems. It is therefore very difficult for a manager to get an overview and a complete understanding of his activities, especially when there are several properties to manage.

Business Intelligence for Hospitality

Blent offers hospitality managers the ability to automatically extract all data from each department and make it accessible and ready to use. Designed specifically for this sector and based on artificial intelligence, the business intelligence platform allows professionals to access their data at any time. With fully customisable dashboards and reports with real-time data, managers have a 360° view of their business and can optimise and forecast their activities.

With its automated data collection platform dedicated to the hospitality market, the start-up was initially targeting small and medium-sized chains in the hospitality industry, including the restaurant, vineyard and distillery sectors. The FIT Food & Hospitality Growth loan by EHL will be used to hire a new project manager, to further develop the start-up in other markets and to invest in marketing and brand awareness by participating in fairs and events.
