One year after obtaining the CE Marking for its inverse planning solution for radiosurgery, Vaud medtech Intuitive Therapeutics announces several milestones. Used today in clinics in France and the UK, IntuitivePlan has shown promising initial results at CHUV where it has been integrated in routine medical procedures since July.

Ecublens based Intuitive Therapeutics is set for expansion. The Swiss medtech obtained the CE Marking in June 2019 for IntuitivePlan. The novel inverse planning solution for radiosurgery is now used in Switzerland by Prof. Marc Levivier at CHUV (Lausanne), in France by Prof. Jean Régis at La Timone (Marseille) and in the UK by Dr. Ian Paddick at Queen Square's National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (London).

First feedbacks are promising as the startup’s CEO Rémi Charrier explains: “Feedbacks from users are that the plans obtained with IntuitivePlan are at a level expert and computed in few minutes while expert forward planning takes between 10 and 30 minutes depending on the complexity of the cases.”

Founded in 2016, Intuitive Therapeutics paves the way for more accurate treatments in radiosurgery which is mainly used to treat brain damage. The Vaud medtech developed IntuitivePlan, an inverse planning tool for radiosurgery that calculates the optimal treatment plan and allows its use in real-time to enhance interactions, user-friendliness, productivity and patient safety. The solution enables shorter treatment times, shortened planning times and homogeneous quality of treatment plans.

Ready for expansion

Intuitive Therapeutics expansion is set to continue in Western Europe with multiple installations planned in the next months. As its CEO explains to Startupticker.ch, the startup is currently developing its user base and adapting its solution for other radiotherapy platforms . IntuitivePlan being for now compatible only with Gamma Knife devices. The company employing 7 persons also plans to raise new funds in the coming months.
