Luxury Innovation Award winners

The Luxury Venture Group has closed the first edition of the Luxury Innovation Award after presenting award prizes to four winners. Acatena and The Rayy from Switzerland are among the winners.

The Luxury Innovation Award is a global contest for the emerging luxury startups developing innovative solutions for the luxury industry. The competition is organized by the Luxury Venture Group, a Swiss-based incubator, accelerator and venture capital ecosystem whose aim is to scout, select, accelerate and invest in startups in the luxury and related industries.

A jury of 21 members evaluated 149 applicants from 34 countries around the world, out of which they selected 9 finalists that presented their ideas during the Luxury Innovation four winners in four categories. Two of the awarded ideas originate from Switzerland. The winners are:

Acatena AG, category Sustainability, Biodiversity and Social Responsibility
The blockchain technology startup Acatena operates a global platform that enables Premium brands to protect their brands against counterfeiting while increasing direct end-customer engagement and full supply chain visibility.

THE RAYY, category: Watches, Jewelry, Fashion, Design and Accessories
THE RAYY is a revolutionary brand specializing in fine jewellery based on its award-winning technology developed at EPFL and Rayform over years of scientific research. The technology allows crafting a gold surface so precise that rays of light are reflected to form a meaningful image, a personal message painted with light. Illumination can be artificial, but sunlight best reveals the hidden image. The products are designed and made in Switzerland with responsibly sourced materials.

The two other winners are Zakaria Jaiathe from Xibit and François Richard from Laneva who won the categories Art and Culture, and Cars, Yachts, Travel experience, Real Estate, Beauty, Food and Lifestyle respectively.

As part of the prize, the winners received trophies, designed by famous Swiss artist, Roger Pfund and produced and sponsored by Altman Casting.

The Luxury Innovation Award 2021 outlook
The 2021 edition of the Luxury Innovation Award will take place in September 2021 as part of a 2-day international Luxury Venture Conference with a new design. New changes include two additional categories; the Fashion and design as well as watches, jewellery and accessories will become separate categories. Additionally, there will be a designated category for technology, innovation and digitization. The competition will have six categories.
