TechCrunch selects AirBie as a Top Pick for Disrupt San Francisco 2019

The Zug-based AirBie, the developer of a Smart Bike Lock, is among the selected early-stage startups in the 'TechCrunch Top Picks program'. As part of the prize, AirBie will exhibit at the Disrupt conference in San Francisco in 2019.

TechCrunch provides startups with opportunities to benefit from an immense in-person and media exposure at TechCrunch events. One of its programs is the TC Top Picks, its flagship Disrupt events.

The Top Picks program showcases and recognises up to five editorially selected early-stage startups in each of the ten designated categories. The selected founders receive a free Startup Alley exhibitor package to showcase their innovations alongside more than 1,200 companies and sponsors, they will get a featured location on the exhibition floor, three free Founder passes and VIP treatment at the Disrupt San Francisco 2019 from 2nd – 4th October. Additionally, the founders will be invited for an interview on the Showcase Stage with a TechCrunch editor will help them boost their exposure.

The Zug based startup AirBie is one of the selected startups that will receive the aforementioned prize package. Selected in the category ‘Mobility’, AirBie was recognised for it smart bike lock which fits any bike, such that anyone can create a bike-sharing fleet in a few minutes and manage it with their smart city analytics software. The Lock has a built-in GPS, LoRaWAN and Bluetooth to facilitate tracking of fleets. With its crypto E-bikes model, the company seeks to promote bike-sharing as a means of transportation especially in cities.

All exhibiting startups have an opportunity of winning a Wild Card to compete for $100,000 in the pitch competition, Startup Battlefield — TechCrunch editors will choose two startups for that thrill ride.
