Touring Club Suisse has launched a Travel Safety Module for its travel assistance product. TCS's Travel Safety module is the first large scale white label implementation of SecuraXis technology. The module has already proven its worth during the recent earthquaked in Inodnesia.
Yesterday the Touring Club Suisse has celebrated the 60th of its travel assistance product Livret ETI / ETI Schutzbrief. The service was in great demand this summer. Since Saturday 23 June, 16,150 calls have been received at the OC. The majority of these were related to cancellations, early returns to Switzerland and postponements to a later date.
The "Travel Safety" module developed with the Geneva startup SecuraXis now allows the operations centre to provide faster and more efficient support. The new free module integrated into the TCS app allows the TCS to proactively get in touch with its members in case of a natural disaster, political disorder or terrorist attack. Using the app and a local internet connection, people can be located abroad and receive individual, reliable information.
The application has proven its worth during the recent earthquake in Indonesia. Over 150 members, who were in the Lombok / Bali region, could be supported within a short time. 26 of these were evacuated from the island of Gili by helicopter just one day after the first earthquake.
