The Ludicious game competitions are now open for applications. Game developers with creative, innovative and outstanding games can now register for the “Innovation in Games Award” or the “Emerging Talent Award” to win €12'000. In addition startups can apply for the Ludicious business accelerator.

Ludicious  - Zurich Game Festival is a networking and exchange platform for game developers focused on the application of the arts and crafts of game development. Every year, the organising team scouts for innovative games to showcase at the Zurich game festival – an event that features an exhibition, a developer conference, workshops, competitions, matchmaking and networking opportunities. Last year, over 600 conference participants and 1000 exhibition visitors attended the event.

The next edition of Ludicious will take place 31. January to 3rd February 2019 at the Zeughaushof in Zürich. Game developers are invited to apply to the competition. International game developers can apply for the Innovation in Games Award and students for the Emerging Talent Award. Registration deadline closes on 30 September 2018.

The international competition comes with a cash prize of € 8’000 while the Student competition offers € 4’000. Games made in Switzerland will additionally be also considered for the SGDA Swiss Games Award, which is organized by the Swiss Game Developers Association (SGDA) and focuses on innovation in its selection criteria.

In addition start-ups can apply for the Ludicious Business Accelerator. The Ludicious Business Accelerator connects promising new game industry startups with international investors and publishers. Ten chosen candidates take part in the following:

  • Pitching to an expert panel of buyers
  • Curated matchmaking with invited industry executives
  • Attending invite-only networking events
  • Presenting their work in the Ludicious Expo to buyers, and also the public
  • Business coaching and pitch training by industry experts

The deadline for the accelerator program expires on 14 September.
