The grocery shopping app Bring! closes seven digit financing round and will start implementing new revenue streams and expanding to new markets.

A few weeks ago the Swiss startup Bring! Labs AG successfully closed its seed financing round over 1.3. Mio. CHF. Among the new shareholders are several experienced private investors the founders could convince with their achievements and vision.

Furthermore 7 high profile private investors from the online startup investment platform investiere.ch contributed a large portion (close to CHF 500’000) to this financing round. Bring!’s fundraising campaign on investiere.ch successfully closed in less than a month and Bring! was able to win over new shareholders with extensive experience and networks in retail, digital marketing and building and scaling up young businesses. “We were very impressed by investiere.ch ,” says Bring! Cofounder and CEO Marco Cerqui. “We got access to very relevant investors that will support the future growth of Bring!. The cooperation with investiere.ch was highly professional and efficient from the first day on.”

The grocery shopping app Bring! has reached 1.5 million downloads and over half a million monthly active users. Bring! is also the only Swiss app that has ever been awarded the Google Editor's Choice badge. These are handpicked apps chosen by Google based on their quality and great user interface. It is notoriously difficult to be selected and less than 200 apps worldwide have the Editor’s Choice badge which significantly drives downloads.

Having gotten to where they currently stand with merely 3 fulltime employees and no paid marketing, Bring! will use the funds raised to expand the team, accelerate their already impressive growth and develop new features and applications. “The new resources will also allow us to implement and expand current and new revenue streams and expand to new markets,” says Dominic Mehr, cofounder and CCO. “Germany will be one of our focus markets in the next phase, both on the user and business side.”

In developing Bring!, the founders applied the “toothbrush test” which Google cofounder and CEO Larry Page uses to assess the potential of a startup: "Is this something that people will use once or twice a day and does it make their life better?" Adhering to this principle and focusing on a clear need, Bring! developed a social grocery shopping list app that allows numerous people to share a shopping list and coordinate via push notifications. Simple yet elegant, Bring! has an intuitive user experience and unique design. Cofounder and CTO Sandro Strebel actually draws all the icons in the app himself. "The drawn icons are part of the Bring! DNA and we often get requests for new icons. More often ordinary ones but our personal favourite is the hamster lickstone. Let’s see when we release this one."
