WiCard is a young start-up based at the “La Forge” coworking space at the Innovation Park of EPFL. In August the team spends four weeks in Warsaw to work in a Startup Weekend like manner.

WiCard is a young startup based at EPFL active in the field of web and mobile. Team develops an app that allows a new, never seen before relationship with businesses. Like music, users can create their own playlist of businesses in town.

Last week the team has left “La Forge” at the Innovation Park - EPFL for one month for its first ”Startup Vacation”, Five team member headed to Warsaw where they will collaborate with two Polish students.

The team rented an apartment in which the five members will live together 24/7 and work hard on their project. It’s a way of working and living together similar to Start-up Weekends. The team will work six days every week (and some weeks seven days depending on project progress. “But we also take good time visiting the city - with the chance to be with local people, by going jogging together or playing Ping Pong during our breaks”, Diedier Schwarz, CEO of WiCard told Startupticker.

The main objective of the stay is to launch the alpha version of the WiCard app for October (design, iOS & Android Code, Backend).

The experiences of the vacation are great so far. Didier Schwarz comments: “With regard to the start-up, the experience is amazing, because we are all the team working in the same space. Being 24/7 together creates strong relationships between us and beyond the work, we learn also to live together. It's funny because our team was created only a few months ago and it seems to be friends for years!”

You can follow the journey, day after day, from their website available on stream.wicard.ch. Daily photos will be posted with an explanation of the main steps and the development of the start-up.
