Lausanne based AVAtronics has raised CHF 1.6 million in an oversubscribed round from Switzerland and Denmark-based investors. As part of its plan, the startup will use the funds for technology enhancement, recruiting new employees and expanding across Europe.

Since its incorporation in 2016, AVAtronics has been developing its patented, True Wideband Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) Technology’ for the audio devices market. The three founders Jeyran Hezaveh, Amir Farahani, and Fardad Zabetian, rely on electro-acoustic modelling and predictive filtering algorithm to remove unwanted noise up to 4 kHz. This frequency is adequate to eliminate background noise on headphones, in wireless headphones equipped with microphones, and in speakers used during conference calls.

The startup has now completed its first round of financing raising CHF 1.6 million from Zurcher Kantonalbank, Investiere, Go Beyond Investing, Norga Capital, Accelerace Invest and private investors.

The funds will facilitate the expansion of the team, further developing the technology, extending the application of its ANC technology to headphones, hearing aids and automotive industries. With headquarters in Lausanne and a subsidiary in Denmark, where it has access to world-class acoustic test facilities and audio experts AVAtronics plans to expand to further markets within Europe.

AVAtronics is supported by multiple Swiss and Danish startup support organisations such as InnosuisseVentureKickInnovaudFITSound Hub Denmark and Accelerace.
