The SPOT, to be held in May in Lausanne, is one of the biggest SportTech events in Europe. Young companies have the opportunity to showcase their products and services to representatives of federations and of tech and sports companies. Swiss and international start-ups can now register and apply for the start-up award of the conference.

On 28 and 29 May 2019, the SwissTech Convention Center in Lausanne will host the SPOT, a gathering of businesses and actors from the sports industry. Organized by ThinkSport, the event aims at providing a meeting ground for young and developing businesses and offer valuable opportunities to network, showcase products, share, learn and pitch in front of key investors and experts from the sector. Last year representatives of companies such as Alibaba, IBM, Intel Sports @ Intel Corp., Infront Sports & Media were present at the event as well as managers from organisations like the IOC (International Olympic Committee), UEFA, FIBA (Fédération internationale de basket-ball) and many more. The 2019 edition of the event will focus on connected sports, new forms of sport, performance and health, and finally, media and marketing.

The event is open to Swiss and international startups active in sports, physical activity or technology, willing to present what they have to offer. The basic startup package for the event includes a two-day pass for SPOT, a booth to showcase the startup’s product or solution, access to conference and workshops and the one-on-one meetings with investors and industry experts. Start-up members of ThinkSport and its network partners as well as Start-ups from the Canton of Vaud
benefit from a special rate. Early bird rates until April 24th 2019.

In addition to applying to the event, startups are encouraged to participate in the international startup contest organized by ThinkSport and Venturelab. Selected by a jury of experts before the conference, the startups will get the opportunity to:

  • have individual one-to-one meeting with sports federations and investors,
  • pitch in front of an international knowledgeable and sports-minded audience,
  • compete for awarding prizes at the final pitch competition,
  • obtain a special introduction to the Swiss startup ecosystem.
