Kooaba announced today that it has been included in the list of "Cool Vendors" in the report “Cool Vendors in Consumer Mobile Applications, 2013” by Gartner. Gartner is a leading information technology research and advisory company.
A new report of Gartner profiles five vendors that play different roles in the mobile app ecosystem. They contribute to the new app economy's growth by helping brands, retailers and app developers explore innovative technologies that may increase future revenue. One of the five companies is kooaba.
“kooaba has been mentioned in several Gartner reports before, but being featured as a cool vendor is … well, simply cool”, comments kooaba CEO Till Quack in his blog.
The company was founded in November 2006 as a spin-off company from Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich, Switzerland. Its mission is to unlock the information captured in images using sophisticated image recognition technology.
Gartner, a leading analyst firm, headquartered in Stamford, Connecticut, U.S.A., has 5,300 associates, including 1,280 research analysts and consultants. The company has clients in 12,400 distinct organizations in 85 countries.
