Plug and Play, XCEL NEX, Hyaccelerator and the SuperCharger Ventures have selected Swiss startups to join their latest batch. The global platforms offer support, access to investors, and investment. Swiss game studios are also causing a stir at the Games Developers Conference in San Francisco – two have received recognition.

In addition to its acceleration program, Taiwan-based XCEL NEXT launched a US$25 million fund to support AI, edge computing, mobility, healthtech, smart manufacturing, fintech, blockchain, metaverse, and next-gen technology startups from Asia, Europe and the U.S. The first batch of investments went to four startups, including Imverse from Switzerland. Imverse provides voxel solutions for live holograms and real-time 3D graphics with applications across social media, entertainment, gaming, education, e-commerce, remote work and virtual meetings. Clients and partners include big techs and gaming companies.

B’ZEOS joins Plug and Play’s Materials & Packaging program | San Francisco, US
Plug and Play, the world’s largest accelerator program, has announced 70 startups from 17 countries for five of its industry-focused innovation programs. B’ZEOS made it into the New Materials & Packaging cohort. The Swiss-Norway based company develops seaweed-based packaging from sustainable sources, fully bio-based and home compostable. The manufacturing process of the material does not use harsh chemicals and does not rely on land-based crops. B’ZEOS aims to provide a sustainable feedstock for biopolymers through both cultivation and harvesting.

EH Group joins Hyaccelerator | Italy
Cleantech startup EH Group will undertake a six-month acceleration program to develop its first industrial deployment in collaboration with Snam. As part of Snam’s Hyaccelerator program, the startup will receive mentorship from Snam personnel access to the Hydrogen Innovation Center network created by the company in collaboration with universities and research centers. EH Group developed a transformative assembly and production process to reduce the price of fuel cell technology. In addition, the fuel cell stack technology that operates with a simplified system and less parasitic loads delivers a power density of up to two times that of other products on the market.

Smartest Learning selected for SuperCharger Ventures | London, UK and Hong Kong
Smartest Learning, providing a platform that combines computer vision with natural language processing to automatically turn study materials into interactive exercises, will join the SuperCharger Ventures accelerator 4.0. SuperCharger Ventures is the first EdTech accelerator dedicated to early-stage and growth-stage startup companies to fuel their global expansion. The startups will benefit from the 12-week program, which provides a platform to acquire growth capital for expansion, scale developments and grow their business.

Game Developers Conference selects Best in Play Winners | San Francisco, US
SwissGames studios Stardust with Grimoire Groves and Knit’n’npurl game with Pocket Oasis are among the eight games selected as “Best in Play” by a panel of Game Developer editors at the GDC event. The winners receive Best in Play designation on-site at GDC and complimentary passes for the following year. With Pocket Oasis players participate in a hand-painted gardening game with an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity. Decorate balconies in cities around the globe. Watch your seedlings grow, bloom, and harvest your own fruit. in Grimoire Groves, players are challenged to restore the magical forest as they grow cute plant creatures with their witch magic in a cosy rogue-lite dungeon crawler.
