The renewed startup days promise to connect and inspire participants online and offline with an exciting mix of national and international keynote speakers and over 50 participative sessions in a modular system which allows to design individual conference programs. The startup days have been selected as one of a few pilot events in the Canton of Berne to gain insights in the context of holding conferences in times of COVID.

Since 2004, the startup days have been connecting the best Swiss startups with investors, bringing together the crucial players of the community and thereby boosting the startup ecosystem all over the country. The established startup days take place in a refreshed version on 23 June 2021, at the “Kursaal” in Bern.

Already confirmed key note speakers include: Audrey Tang, Taiwan’s digital minister in charge of Social Innovation; Yanni Pipilis, Managing Partner, SoftBank Investment Advisers, Walter Thurnherr, Swiss Federal Chancellor; Lawrence Leuschner, Founder and CEO at Tier Mobility.

The startup days have implented a decentralized conferencing model. The program is categorized into four tracks:

  • Inspiration: Think out of the box and get surprised.
  • Learning: Grow your skills and knowledge with excellent experts.
  • Scaling: Find out how to enlarge and internationalize your business and learn how to mature the ecosystem.
  • Pitching: Discover outstanding tech startups.

Participants can design their own conference by choosing the sessions that suit them best.

Pitching Battle

Although there will be a number of innovations, some well-proven elements are continued. These include one-to-one meetings and a pitch battle. 50 start-ups have been selcted for the pitching track.

The event on 23 June will be preceded by an invitation only pre-conference launch event in Bern on 22 June in the evening. The startup days take place online as well as offline and in compliance with the prevailing guidelines regarding COVID-19.
