myProfashional AG

In October 2918, our team launched a digital market place offering peer-to-peer services in the fashion industry. Similar to Airbnb the goal is for our web app to become a network orchestrator connecting two different peer groups. In comparison to Airbnb who connects "Guests" and "Hosts", we built a platform where "Shoppers" can book knowledable, motivated and independant individuals considering themselves fashion experts - we call them "Profashionals". Neutral and without any selling intentions, Profashionals will accompany Shoppers during shopping trips from store to store and advice them honestly and unbiased. We learned that shopping for many people became stressful and unpleasant and realized that the longer the more, common sales associates in stores are occupied with plenty of other things than consulting and taking care of customers (e.g with restocking, cash register management or with tyding up the dressing rooms). And in those rare cases in which sales associates do take care of Shoppers, they are biased and tend to rather talk consumers into buying something than to provide them with honest opinions and individual recommendations. Therefore, we aim at leveraging the growing community of fashion-influencers, stylists and all kinds of fashion-lovers to sign up as Profashionals on our website being incentiviced by the promising opportunity to work flexible hours and make some extra money by sharing their styling tips and credible fashion advice with Shoppers. Our businessmodel is light asseted and builds on the fact that people nowadays cherish peer opinions and very much. Furthermore our idea responds to the shifting economy moving away from offering goods and standardised services towards services that allow for personalized and remarkable offline experiences on street. For the intermediation services connecting Shoppers and Profashionals, the Shopper is charged a moderate fee which is split between the Profashional and the Company. The Profashional, depending on his self-assessment as well as on his ratings apparent on the Company website, defines his hourly rate autonomously. Being a marketplace, our business model is based on a 20% commission charged to the Shopper on top of Profashional’s remuneration for any accompanied Shopping Trip. The flexible myProfashional trip tracker app allows the Profashional to commence a Shopping Trip upon receipt of a personal start code from the Shopper as well as to terminate the trip once the Shopper decides to do so by providing the Profashional with a termination code. Entering the termination code into the myProfashional trip tracker app by the Profashional automatically initiates calculation of the trip’s duration multiplied by the Profashional’s hourly rate multiplied by 1.2 (Profashional’s royalty (time x rate per hour) plus Company commission (20% surcharge on Profahshional’s royalty)) and triggers the payment via Stripe integration. The total cost of the Shopping Trip is charged to the credit card registered by the Shopper in the course of entering his booking request and then split between the Profashional and the Company. This payment process is in accordance with Profashionals acting as independent parties and not as employees of the Company. We belive that there lies a huge opportunity in making personal shopping an affordable experience.
