RouteRANK wins the 2013 Rail Customer Experience Competition

The Customer Experience Live Final was held this week at the popular 15Hatfields venue on London's South Bank. Future Railway, a British nonprofit-organization, has chosen out of a talent pool of 111 entrants sixteen finalists to take part in the competition, in an effort to win a total of £300,000 in cash prizes. One of the winners is RouteRANK.

The Lausanne-based Startup  got the ‘Cross-over Prize’ of Future Railway, rewarding exceptional proposals that transferred innovations developed for another application to the rail industry.  Having already successfully applied their innovation and technology in the travel industry, routeRANK provides a software solution for freight transport planning. Incorporating road, sea and air transport data, their ‘Integrated Rail Freight Planner’ would be able to compute multi-modal shipment route options and propose real-time alternatives in the case of disruption.

In a single search routeRANK's patent-pending technology finds and ranks the best possible travel routes, allowing users to sort them according to their priorities such as price, travel time and CO2 emissions. In addition to the ‘Integrated Rail Freight Planner’ routeRANK provides a range of products to companies and organizations.  

Custom developed versions of the proprietary software are offered to corporate customers and organizations, for their managed travel processes, to the business travel industry and to consumer travel platforms. Smaller institutions (SMEs) in particular can sign up for the Standard Professional version for their unmanaged travel processes. Event organizers, companies and institutions can integrate door-to-door travel planning into their websites with routeRANK's widget.
