Industry Veteran joins Lemoptix as its Vice President of Business Development

Lausanne, Switzerland based Lemoptix, the leading developer of laser microprojection technology for next generation mobile human/machine interaction and augmented reality is proud to announce the hiring of Dr. Izhar Matzkevich, an industry veteran, as its Vice President of Business Development.

Lemoptix enables next generation augmented reality and human/machine interaction with its patented laser microprojection technology and solutions. Applications of Lemoptix technology range from automotive head up displays (HUD) to embedded projectors in smartphones and low power wearable displays and 3D sensing. Lemoptix has developed multidisciplinary and world-leading expertise in MEMS-mirror modelling, design and fabrication; System and module development, including optical and electronics subsystems.

Early this year, Lemoptix demonstrated the world’s smallest optical engine for laser micro-projectors with unparalleled speckle reduction, display resolution and luminosity at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2014 in Las Vegas, NV, USA. In February 2014, Lemoptix CTO Nicolas Abele won Best Paper Award for his paper on speckle reduction techniques for embeddable MEMS-based laser micro-projector at the Photonics West tradeshow in San Francisco, CA, USA.

Lemoptix has now hired Izhar Matzkevich as VP business Development. Dr. Matzkevich has 20 years experience in creating and growing cutting edge technology companies and initiating, developing and driving strategic deals with consumer electronics OEMs and ODMs, domestically and globally. Izhar served as a manager, marketing director and VP, General Manager and founding President/CEO with such companies.

Dr. Matzkevich is the co-founder of Solite, Inc. (2010), named one of Startup Open 2011 GWE 50 most promising startup companies from around the world, and of WildCharge, Inc. (2005, later known as Pure Energy Solutions, a company offering wire-free charging for mobile consumer and other electronic devices. WildCharge technology was listed by TIME Magazine among its Best Technologies of 2007 and its products won “Best of Innovation” at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2008, 2010 and 2011.

Dr. Matzkevich holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Southern California (USC) Viterbi School of Engineering and a MBA from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), Anderson School of Business.
