Seif Awards

The jury for the Seif Awards for social entrepreneurship has nominated 10 finalists for the 2016 edition. These will meet again at the award ceremony in October to further convince the jury. Four winners from four categories will receive CHF 10’000 each.

Seif Awards for social entrepreneurship seek to recognise entrepreneurs and organisations with solutions that create an impact on society. The award comprises four categories; Suva award for integration and prevention, UBS award for social innovation, PWC award for future trends and the Seif award for social entrepreneurship.

This year 292 applications from 65 countries were submitted. 23 candidates were invited to pitch. Following an intensive day of pitch presentations, 10 finalists that were able to convince the jury were selected to run in the final round. They range from complex hi-tech business solutions to simple concepts with very significant impact. These include: Aiducation, Carbon Delta, Choba Choba, Farmy.ch, GreenPath Food (from Ethiopia), Green City Solutions, KadAfrica (Uganda), MoSan, Stuward, Zum guten Heinrich.

All ten will further pitch to the jury and the audience during the award ceremony on October 6th, 2016 in the Weisser Saal in Volkshaus Zurich. A winner from each of the four categories will be bestowed with CHF 10’000.
