Established in July 2016, Faitron is already heading for the international market. Faitron recently announced its expansion in the United States, where it has already set up a new subsidiary. The location lies in the heart of the food industry and brings the St. Gallen-based startup vast opportunities. Faitron developed HeatsBox, a lunchbox that enables warm up meals within a short time.

The two co-founders of Faitron – Fabian Graf and Aron Kenessey, had the idea to develop new product that would allow them to pack their lunch and warm it up anywhere. After four year of working on their idea, the business student Graf and engineer Kenessey developed a new food warming and self-cleaning lunchbox, which enables users to heat up their meals anywhere within 15 minutes. The entire development process of the so called HeatsBox has since then accelerated rapidly, enabling the startup achieve significant milestones.

In November 2015, the founders filed for a patent for their technology, for which approval is still pending. In January 2016, they partnered with a Chicago-based company Rublik Design to redesign the product. Later in July, they were nominated among the finalists for the Kickstart Accelerator summer program. Upon completing the intensive 11-week Kickstart program, Faitron was incorporate in St. Gallen at the end of July 2016. Faitron has also raised a six figure sum from private Swiss investors in seed financing round in August to finalise the development of the HeatsBox and the follow-up commercialization.

The HeatsBox can be powered by connecting the USB Power cable to the laptop or any power source, enabling the user to use heat up their meals anywhere any time. In addition, the Heatsbox contains a self-cleaning mechanism to allow for proper hygiene. With the HeatsBox, Faitron is minimizing food waste and supporting sustainability within the food industry.

The St. Gallen based startup has continued to thrive with success and is now taking the Heatsbox to an international level. In September 2016, Faitron expanded into the United States. The establishing of a subsidiary in Chicago was influenced by the desire to strengthen their business relationship with their Chicago-based partner, Rubrik Design LLC, with whom they are working together in regard to design and engineering. Chicago also provides a wide range of benefits for the startup such as access to a larger customer base, possibility for faster market growth a as well as global expansion.
