Ten Swiss startups among the MassChallenge finalists

Over the past four months, the MassChallenge 2016 Swiss cohort has been working with mentors to refine their businesses, connecting with corporate and non-profit organizations to explore partnership opportunities, and attending workshops to learn more about product/market fit, pitching, and fundraising. 

13 startups out of more than 70 have been selected to present their products or services to the final judging panel. Judges will have the possibility to distribute up to 1 million CHF according to the merit of the projects that will be presented. In addition, in kind support will be provided to the more promising startups. Winners will be announced at the MassChallenge Awards on November 2nd at Univercité in Renens where the accelerator is based. An important number of startup enthusiasts and leaders from the global innovation ecosystem are anticipated to attend the award ceremony to celebrate the winners.

Each one has learned, become stronger and contributed to the success of the first year of MC in Switzerland,” said Ian Roberts, CTO of Bühler, one of the founding partners of MassChallenge Switzerland. “However, we believe that the final 13 have advanced significantly during the MassChallenge programme, and have the potential to become number one in their fields and are on the cusp of major successes.”

Fastree3D – Fastree3D imaging sensors help recognize and measure distance to fast moving objects in real-time, enabling automotive safety.

Intento – an EPFL spin-off developing a solution for the rehabilitation of paralyzed stroke patients.

machIQ Industrial Services Inc. (France) – Industrial services marketplace for peer-to-peer spare parts purchasing & trading, and a platform for remote diagnosis & technical support.

Sensorwake (France)
Sensorwake improves the well-being and health of people by using the sense of smell.

SwissDeCode – Empowering supply chain inspectors to take 200x faster decisions about food authenticity & compliance to protect profitability and brand.

Taste of Kenya (United Kingdom)
Simplifying the Kenyan Coffee Supply Chain by linking Kenyan coffee farmers to coffee roasters globally.

Versantis – a pharmaceutical company developing the first drug capture platform for the treatment of life-threatening intoxications.
