Tweasy (www.tweasy.com), a Swiss company specialized in the development of innovative digital marketing applications and technologies, plans to invest about 3 million Euros over the next five years in its new development centre, based at the Science and Technology Park of University of Porto (UPTEC) in Portugal.

As of October, 1st the new office of Tweasy will be based at UPTEC and it intends to “invest 3 million Euros, or even more, depending on its expansion to new markets and its ability to integrate new employees”, says its CEO, José de Bastos.

The company will also move its headquarters to the new Innovation Centre at UPTEC, which will soon open doors and which is situated near the Faculty of Engineering of University of Porto.

The investment in Portugal has been an important goal of the company, however the decision to expand the business to Porto was driven by “Tweasy´s interest in the dynamics of UPTEC; on the other hand, the first contacts were excellent which confirmed the choice”, says the company’s CEO.

In a time of unstable economic and financial environment in the country, the investment in innovation technology is key to growth. According to José de Bastos, the partnership between Tweasy and UPTEC offers the company “a chance to progress in a dynamic academic environment and to discover and hire new talents, as well as to be close to innovation and to be able to take advantage of ideas and networking”.

Tweasy was incorporated in Switzerland where its product is sold to SMEs by Switzerland’s biggest Telecom provider. Tweasy plans to use its development centre as a driving force for international expansion to Europe’s biggest countries, France and Germany.
