At the last Swiss Venture Day in addition to the start-up pitches, there was also much of interest from CTI Invest. Large companies should be targeted specifically to work with start-ups. A first Swiss Venture Day in Ticino is planned and the organisation is looking for a new name.

Before the first Swiss Venture Day this year, the General Meeting of CTI Invest took place. Two important changes were announced. First, the organisation intends to contribute to improved connections between large companies and start-ups. At a first event, with the motto ‘Learn from your peers’, representatives of large companies will exchange views on how best to work with start-ups. Secondly, CTI Invest will bring together young entrepreneurs and largecorporations..

In addition, for the first time a Swiss Venture Day will take place in Ticino this year. It is scheduled for December 2015.

The proposed change of name of CTI Invest was also discussed. To position itself more clearly as an independent organisation, the name should be changed. Various options are currently being discussed and ideas are welcome. Suggestions can be sent to Jean-Pierre Vuilleumier (vui@cti-invest.ch).

Impressive start-up pitches
Start-ups were as usual the focus of attention after the General Meeting had finished. The elevator pitches from Femtotools and Swissto12 were particularly noteworthy: these companies have the first start-up phase behind them and are now ready for growth.

Investors at Swiss Venture Day were also impressed by the innovative technology from Insightness and Millipay and their particularly attractive pitches. Insightness’ vision system recognises characteristic landmarks (keypoints) and tracks their position within a few milliseconds and on a small power budget. This fast and low-power vision system can be employed in different areas, such as mobile robotics, augmented reality glasses or virtual reality glasses. MilliPay is a service provider for micropayment systems in which micro-sums can be transferred in real time securely, anonymously and cost-effectively.

You can find the complete list of all start-ups that presented at Swiss Venture Day in an earlier article.

Angel Day well attendend
In the morning an Angel Day about Lean Innovation had been held. The workshop was well attended with 30 participants. They had intensive workshop and discussions about the topic.

The next event of CTI Invest will be the venture.ch Investor Day on 15 June 2015. The event is a joint event by CTI Invest and >>venture>> 2015 and by invitation only. As in the previous edition, the two organisations have organized a joint same day investor’s event so that investors have the chance to see more than 20 high potential business ideas in just one day.
